When you don't 'look the part'

We all want to be judged off merit but there's no denying that perception is a HUGE thing. Tiktok user @stevejobs_666 shares their view on how not ‘looking the part’ can work against underrepresented groups in tech.

The goal is to completely dismantle what a smart/capable/talented person ‘looks like’ — because they look like all 👏 of 👏 us.

Here are four organisations helping founders to succeed, no matter what they look like

  1. Techstars Foundation - aims to increase representation of minority tech founders by providing opportunities through grants, scholarships and sponsorships

  2.  CODE2040 -  aims for the proportionate representation of black and latinos in the leading edge of America's innovation economy as technologists, investors, thought leaders and entrepreneurs

  3. 500 Startups - one of the leading seed accelerators and early funders that are advancing the cause of diversity and inclusion across the global tech community

  4. Black Founders - a national network of African-American founders that is dedicated to increasing the number of successful black entrepreneurs in tech

Who is inspiring your community to build a better future?
