Will Smith and The Myth of "The Good Negro"

#TheSlap, The Oscars and The Myth of "The Good Negro"

The myth of the ‘the Good Black’ continues — no matter how spotless you are, one mistake (which we’ll all make because we’re human) can get you dropped in an instant. It’s exhausting to carry the weight of being perfect all the time. It’s another way of denying Black people our humanity. We are tired.
